Checkers for Nokia 9500 Communicator is easy to use popular classic
Checkers game to play in spare time of a day. At one time you take a rest and have a
little brain train by playing this capturing game.
Checkers game is played using 64-square board and two players (you and your
Nokia 9500 Communicator). Play occurs on the dark squares of the board
only. You have red checkers and your opponent has green checkers. You move first.
Object of the game
The object of Checkers is to capture all your opponent's pieces, or to prevent
your opponent from being able to move any of its pieces; either situation meets the
victory conditions.
Moves and captures
A move is made forward to an adjacent open square; a capture is made by
jumping forward over an adjacent opponent's piece into a vacant square. You must
jump and capture an opponent's piece whenever possible (or when the opportunity
arises). You will not be allowed to make another move until you make a capture when
it is available to you. If you can continue to jump and make multiple captures, you
must do so and take all the pieces.
King
A single checker piece is made a "king" when it has
successfully reached the opponent's back or "starting" row. A king
is denoted by K letter. Kings may move and capture diagonally forward and backward.
Single pieces may capture kings.
If you don't want to make a move, press Pass button.
